First I will apologize that the photos are not the greatest because they were after all taken with my cell phone.
COLOR RUN 2013. This took place over the weekend and the Portland International Raceway. What a blast we had! Hannah did most of it with me (she rode in the stroller the last 1/2 mile or so).
Addison- Slept all but the last 1/2 mile- Silly girl didn't know what she was missing, though the 6:30a wake up for her was a bit early! She did enjoy the colors at the end of the walk though. She was a very well behaved kiddo for as early as we had to get up.

This selfie was taken towards the beginning of the 5k. Hannah and I chose to run the first 1/2 mile and then walked the rest. You can kinda see Hannah tucked behind me in the photo.

Before the run started. The girls were just chilling in the stroller. Love this bike trailer for the times when I need to push 2! Thankfully this stroller has a mesh and plastic cover so when we would get close to the color throw areas I'd throw that over the stroller and that way it didn't affect Addison.

Hannah's hair after the Orange. There were 4 color stations. We would walk through and get covered in dyed cornstarch- it was pretty darn cool. I wasn't sure how Hannah would respond. But once she saw that it was okay to get covered in the color she had so much fun.

6:30 wake up- and she was still an awesome kiddo! This pic was taken in the parking lot before we got started that day. I'm so proud of her willingness to do this with me.

Hannah at the end of the race- she loved her colors. After getting home she drew a picture of the color fun and asked to write out "Best Day Ever" so she could copy it on her picture. It was very sweet and I think tells you how much she enjoyed this.

Addison prior to getting started.

Finish line Color Party! So much fun.

This was the start line- we were near the front of the start line and got to go with the first wave of participants. It's fuzzy cause my phone was in a plastic bag just in case!

Selfie at the end! I wasn't as covered in the color as I had hoped mostly because people were trying to avoid hitting the stroller with the color, but as you can see I was able to score some pink pride! I was smiling all day long, and the girls and I had a relaxing afternoon at home after this adventure in the morning.

I can't express just how much fun this run was. It was my first 5k to do alone (and only my 2nd 5k in my life- which both have coincidentally been in the last 6 months). I had a blast. Hannah and I were laughing and talking the whole way- while Addison slept. I can't tell you just how amazing this race was. When we finished at about 10:30 (we started at 9am)- there were still waves of people being let out at the starting gate. There were so many participants there.
If you have been interested in doing a 5k but don't want something boring. . . I highly recommend this "run"- There are several other fun 5k's out there, and I'm hoping to explore some more of them in the upcoming year or so.
